Zakharova: "Russia is concerned about the growing tension on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan"

Russia is concerned about the information of the increase in tension on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border amid progress on the peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova.
"We cannot help but be concerned that amid progress, news about the completion of the approval of the draft peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, unfortunately, there have been more frequent reports of increased tension on the border between the two countries," she said at a briefing.
Moscow calls on its partners to exercise restraint and avoid actions that could escalate the situation, she added.

Over the past few days, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry has accused the Armenian Armed Forces of shelling on the border. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied these statements.
