Mansur Yavas made a speech from Istanbul's city hall on the second day of protests, the outlet reported. "Justice will prevail, law, democracy will prevail, we will do it together with you. We have gathered here representing all of Turkey. We are here to defend our constitution. We are here to say that nothing can be above the will of the nation. Today we are here to defend the rights of Ekrem Imamoglu," the Ankara mayor said. It should be recalled that Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu and his press advisor Murat Ongun were arrested in a special operation and taken to court on March 19. Turkish media reported that Imamoglu was detained in connection with a case related to corruption, bribery and an organization involved in bribery.
