Iran's Foreign Ministry: "Trump's letter was received yesterday evening"
![]() Iran will conduct a “thorough assessment” before responding to US President Donald Trump’s letter urging nuclear talks and warning of possible military action if Tehran refuses, the foreign ministry said Thursday. “The letter was received last night and is currently being reviewed,” ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei told the official IRNA news agency, adding: “A decision on how to respond will be made after a thorough assessment.” On Wednesday, UAE presidential advisor Anwar Gargash delivered Trump’s letter to Iran during a visit to Tehran. Also on Wednesday, before seeing Trump’s letter, Khamenei dismissed the US president’s call for negotiations as a “deception of global public opinion.” He said that talks with Washington would only worsen Tehran’s position. |
