![]() During the Azerbaijani attack, both the EU and Russia left the Armenian people alone. This was stated by Thomas Fröhlich, a German MEP, at the Council of Europe plenary session in Strasbourg, where the issue of Armenian prisoners of war held in Baku was discussed. “Hundreds of thousands of Armenians were forced to flee, some of them are still being held captive. Today we are witnessing the systematic destruction of the cultural heritage of the world’s first Christian country. But why do we hear so little about it? Stability in the South Caucasus is in the EU’s interests. We need peaceful negotiations and proper treatment of the Armenian prisoners of war, the Armenian people and the Armenian cultural heritage,” the MEP said. |
