Man takes airport employee hostage in Almaty

A man with a knife took a female employee hostage at the Almaty airport.

The incident occurred in the pre-flight inspection area. The attacker, posing as a passenger, refused to show documents, grabbed the employee by the hair and began to threaten her with a knife.

At some point, one of those present at the airport offered to replace the hostage. The woman was released, and the man took her place.

After some time, the man who appeared in the place of the hostage took the knife from the inadequate man, after which the law enforcement officers quickly detained the criminal.
