Trump: US to deploy new Golden dome missile shield
![]() The US government plans to develop and deploy a new missile defense system, Golden Dome. He announced this during a speech to the US House of Representatives and Senate. “As commander in chief, I am focused on building the most powerful army of the future. As a first step, I am asking Congress to fund the most advanced missile defense shield, the Golden Dome system, to protect our homeland,” Trump said. He noted that plans to create such a missile defense system were already underway under US President Ronald Reagan (who held that position from 1981 to 1989), but the technology at that time did not allow the project to be implemented. “But now we have these technologies, they are simply incredible,” Trump added. “Israel has them, other countries have them, and the United States should have them too,” he said. "This is very, very important. The world is very dangerous. We want to be protected, and we are going to protect our citizens more than ever," Trump concluded. |
