![]() The village Togh, which was the center of the Dizak melikdom / principality/ in the 18th century, and was founded by Melik Egan-Hovhannes - son of Vardapet Ghukas, the abbot of Gtchavank, is considered by Azerbaijani occupants as their homeland, and the St. Hovhannes Church built by the very melik and named after his Saint /eponymous/ as belonging to Udins. Melik Yegan himself had the exact opposite "opinion". Melik left the large inscription on the walls of the entrance of his Palace saying in particular, that when the Ottomans occupied Dizak, "I did not let them to take captures from my Armenia".
