Zelensky proposed to deprive Ukrainians of citizenship with a Russian passport
A statement about the intention to deprive the citizenship of Ukrainians who simultaneously have a Russian passport was made by the head Vladimir Zelensky January 11 in a video message posted on his Telegram channel. As Zelensky explained, the purpose of such decisions is to ensure that people who have dual and triple citizenship, including Russian, remain only with Russian citizenship and live on the territory of the “relevant country.” Zelensky noted that, first of all, the decision to deprive of citizenship will be made in relation to people who have a spiritual or political influence on Ukraine. Zelensky added that the Ukrainian departments are already working on the issue of deprivation of citizenship. At the same time, Zelensky did not name specific names of Ukrainian citizens who may be deprived of Ukrainian citizenship. |
