Trump Said the US Will Do Whatever They Want with Oil in Syria
![]() The United States took control of the Syrian oil field in order to defeat the Islamic State terrorist group (ISIS, banned in the Russian Federation), and now they can do whatever they want with this oil. This was announced on Tuesday by US President Donald Trump after a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on the eve of the Alliance summit in London. "The IG tried to maintain control of the oil, and now we are completely in control. Frankly, in this matter we enjoy the significant support of a large number of different people. By and large, the only military men who remain on this territory are those who guard oil. We have oil, and we can do what we want with it", Trump said. The American leader in October announced the withdrawal of the US military from the area of the Turkish operation in northern Syria, but said that Washington intends to maintain control of oil fields in the north-east of the country. The Russian Defense Ministry said that the United States is smuggling Syrian oil to other countries, caravans are protected by US private military companies and special forces. |
