US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Thursday put off a visit to Greenland, citing pressing business in Washington. Pompeo was scheduled to visit Greenland's capital Nuuk and to make a second stop to see New York Air National Guard troops deployed to assist climate research, part of a push to show the US commitment to the Arctic. Greenland is an autonomous territory of Denmark, whose foreign minister, Anders Samuelsen, had been set to meet Pompeo in Nuuk. |
