US President Donald Trump called on Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s Turkish colleague to “not treat poorly” Kurds in Syria against the background of the withdrawal of American troops from there. This was reported by the press secretary of the White House, Sarah Sanders. According to her, Trump expressed a desire to work together to resolve Turkey’s security concerns in northeastern Syria. “He stressed that it is important for the United States that Turkey does not treat badly the Kurds and other participants of the Syrian democratic forces with whom we fought together, seeking the defeat of the Islamic State,” Sanders reported. |
