Over a year in Syria has killed 39 thousand people
![]() The victims of the Syrian conflict in 2011 were almost half a million people in the country. During the civil war in Syria in 2017, were killed, according to estimates of human rights defenders, about 39 thousand people. This number includes more than 2,100 children and nearly 1,500 women, said on Thursday, December 28, to UK-based Syrian Observatory for human rights (SOHR). In the fighting, according to SOHR, over the last 12 months were killed almost 3,000 members of the army of Bashar al-Assad, and about 7 500 opponents of the regime, mostly supporters of terrorist groups “Islamic state” and “jabhat al Fatah ash-sham”. The number of victims of the armed conflict in the past year declined slightly compared with 2016 and 2015, when it was, respectively, 49 thousand and 55 thousand people.
