This was stated on Sunday by the spokesman of the Gaddafi family Basem al-Hashimi al-Sul to the English-language Egyptian magazine Egypt Today. The beginning of the political activities of Seif al-Islam on the territory of Libya became known in mid-October. Gaddafi’s lawyer Khaled Al-Zaidi told Al Arabiya TV that Gaddafi’s son is involved in the life of the Libyan society, maintains contacts with public figures and leaders of the Libyan tribes in order to form a comprehensive program. Saif al-Islam, 44, the eldest son of Muammar Gaddafi from his second marriage, was considered by his father as a probable successor. He is an architect and engineer by training, studied in Austria and the UK. He graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science, where he was awarded a Ph.D. He headed an international charity fund named after his father. |
