Lavrov and Guterres discussed the Ukrainian conflict on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed the conflict in Ukraine with United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres. The talks took place in New York as part of the high-level week of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. This was announced on September 24 on the website of the UN Secretary General.

"The Secretary General and the Minister of Foreign Affairs discussed the conflict in Ukraine, including its global consequences," the publication says.

The Russian Foreign Ministry added that the parties discussed topical issues of the organization's work, paying special attention to the results of Guterres' activities as Secretary General. The Russian Foreign Minister stressed the need to reform the United Nations to adapt it to the conditions of a multipolar world order.
