Trump says Iran attack postponed at request of Gulf allies
![]() United States President Donald Trump says he has postponed a planned attack on Iran at the request of Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and added that “serious negotiations are now taking place”. "Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, and some other [countries] have asked me if we can delay [the strikes on Iran] for two or three days, for a short period, because they believe we are very close to a deal. And if we can achieve that, provided that Iran does not get a nuclear weapon, if they are satisfied, I think we probably will be satisfied too," the American leader said. He added that the US had informed Israel and several other countries in the Middle East of the decision to delay the strikes on Iran. "We'll see if this leads to anything," he noted. |
