![]() A woman was found in Thailand, whose age, according to official documents, reaches 126 years. This fact makes her potentially the oldest person in history. This was reported on March 17 by the local newspaper Daily News. The woman's name is Guiche Jitsakulvat. She lives in a traditional bamboo house with a teak leaf roof in the Li district of Lampong Province. The resident does not speak Thai and communicates exclusively in the dialect of the Pak-Kenyo ethnic group (Karen). Relatives showed the journalists the pensioner's identity card. The document shows the date of birth — September 5, 2443 according to the Buddhist calendar, which corresponds to 1900 according to the Gregorian calendar. According to Jitsakulvat herself, she had one child who died at the age of about 40. She now has three grandchildren, the eldest of whom is only 37 years old. The woman claims that she has been in good health all her life, having been hospitalized only once, and worked in rice fields as long as she could. A woman considers lifestyle and nutrition to be the secret of her longevity. She adheres to a vegetarian diet, eats three meals a day, especially likes crispy fried tofu, and also practices meditation daily, fingers the rosary and prays. |
