Millions "for verification": in Kyiv, fake SSU agents were exposed who scammed pensioners out of 8.6 million hryvnias
![]() Kyiv residents, impersonating SSU employees, defrauded pensioners of 8.6 million hryvnias «for verification»: they have been notified of suspicion. It was found that a 62-year-old woman received a call informing her that the SSU needed to check her funds for links to the aggressor country. For this, she had to hand over all her savings, which were promised to be returned after the check. The pensioner gave the so-called «agent» all her money – over 59 thousand dollars and about 5 thousand euros, i.e., over 2 million 800 thousand hryvnias. Using the same scheme, the scammers deceived three more women aged 78, 81, and 88, who handed over to them respectively over 1 million 300 thousand UAH, 3 million 100 thousand UAH, and 1 million 400 thousand UAH. The fake SSU employees transferred the obtained money through a cryptocurrency exchange point to crypto wallets. |
