Klitschko says 600,000 fled Kyiv after Russian strikes on energy sites

Kyiv is moving towards a humanitarian catastrophe.

This was reported by the city’s mayor, Klychko, in a conversation with The Times.

According to his data, 600,000 residents left the capital in January alone.

Klychko noted that during the last two missile attacks on Kyiv, thermal power stations were hit.

«Russians are aiming to provoke a humanitarian catastrophe in our native city so that people suffer from the cold in winter», – he stated.

He again urged people who had alternative accommodation to leave in order to reduce pressure on the energy network in the capital.

In some apartments, it is so cold that residents cannot use bathrooms due to frozen water in toilets, and icicles from condensation form on windowsills, the publication reports.
