'Elephant, dragon must come together': Xi's outreach to Modi amid Trump tariffs

The dragon and the elephant must unite, Chinese President Xi Jinping said at the beginning of his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Modi.
In his opening remarks during delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of SCO Summit in China, President Xi Jinping said on Sunday it is vital for India and China to be friends and good neighbours.
Chinese President Xi Jinping said at the meeting, which comes amid both India and China facing US President Donald Trump's tariffs, it is important for the “dragon and the elephant to come together”. Follow SCO Summit live updates

"The World is going towards transformation. China and India are two of the most civilizational countries. We are the world's two most populous countries and part of the Global South... It is vital to be friends, a good neighbour, and the Dragon and the Elephant to come together...," Xi Jinping said.
