"As soon as territorial claims are excluded from the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, the peace treaty will be signed" - Aliyev
![]() As soon as the territorial claims against Azerbaijan are removed from the Armenian constitution, a peace treaty will be signed. This was stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in an interview with Al Arabia TV channel. “Formally, the peace treaty was not signed for one specific reason. The Armenian constitution still contains a provision that calls into question the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan,” Aliyev said. “As soon as this constitutional amendment is made, as soon as the territorial claims against Azerbaijan are removed, an official peace treaty will be signed. But the fact that this document was initialed by Azerbaijan and Armenia at the White House in the presence of President Trump already means the end of the war, which has lasted for more than thirty years with interruptions,” Aliyev added. |
