Kim Jong Un awards North Korean soldiers who took part in the operation to liberate Kursk region

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has awarded North Korean soldiers who participated in the operation to liberate Russia's Kursk region.

The North Korean leader praised the soldiers' role in "the victorious leadership of units in the operation to liberate Russia's Kursk region."

Pyongyang said the participation of North Korean soldiers in the liberation of the Kursk region demonstrates "the highest level of military friendship between Korea and Russia and the allied, fraternal relations between the countries."
