#NYT: "Trump Calls Kyiv's Recognition of Donbass Russia's Fast Track to Peace"

US President Donald Trump has told European leaders that Kiev's recognition of Donbas as Russian would help to quickly reach a peace agreement, the New York Times reported, citing unnamed European officials.

"After meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday, Trump told European leaders that he favors a plan to end the war in Ukraine by handing over unconquered territory (to Russia) in exchange for trying to reach a ceasefire... After meeting with Putin, Trump declined to demand an immediate ceasefire and said a quick peace agreement could be reached if Zelensky agrees to hand over the rest of Donbas to Russia, even the territory not occupied by Russian troops," the report said.
