Syria's Druze hold protests demanding independence

Syrian Druze are holding mass protests in the province of As-Suwayda, demanding independence.

According to some reports, government forces and allied groups based in the western part of the province opened fire on the village of Najran, where the Druze live, last night. Shelling also took place on the settlements of Al-Majdal and Walga.
