 Australia intends to recognize Palestine as a state in September at the UN General Assembly, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said. Bloomberg reports. According to the head of government, such a decision is “humanity’s best hope” for stopping the wave of violence in the Middle East and ending the conflict, suffering and hunger in the Gaza Strip. “Our government has made it clear that Hamas terrorists will have no place in any future Palestinian state,” Albanese stressed. The New Zealand government has said it is considering recognizing Palestine as a state, but a formal decision will be made in September, the media outlet writes. |
