The head of the Indian Ministry of Defense pointed to the tremendous pace of development of the country.
![]() India is developing at such a rate that no state can stop it on its way to superpower status. This was announced on Sunday, August 10, by the country's Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. "With the speed at which India is progressing, I can assure you that no world power can prevent us from becoming a superpower," NDTV quoted him as saying. During his speech, he criticized the tariffs imposed by the United States on India and noted that some states cannot accept India's successes. Singh pointed to attempts to increase the cost of Indian goods in order to force other countries to stop buying them, but assured that India would continue to move forward and would not allow anyone to block the way to the status of a global superpower. On July 30, US President Donald Trump announced that from August 1, Washington would impose duties on imports from New Delhi in the amount of 25%. The politician explained that the decision on duties is also related to the trade imbalance between the United States and India. The Indian Ministry of Trade and Industry said at the same time that the country remains committed to protecting its national interests against the backdrop of the imposition of US duties. |
