Kiselev: "The Azerbaijan Press Council's accusations against Sputnik Azerbaijan are as empty as a drum"

The accusations of the Azerbaijani Press Council are as empty as a drum. This was reported to RIA Novosti by Dmitry Kiselyov, CEO of the Rossiya Segodnya media group.
The Azerbaijani Press Council had previously made accusations against the Russian side in response to an open letter from the Russian Union of Journalists, which complained about the arrest of Sputnik Azerbaijan employees. The council’s statement contained accusations that the Russian Federation is using the media organization as a “tool of foreign policy influence.”
“The accusations of the Azerbaijani Press Council are as empty as a drum. The partners cannot cite a single example to substantiate their thesis that Sputnik Azerbaijan allegedly carried out subversive activities in the country,” Kiselyov said.
Recall that on June 30, the Azerbaijani authorities arrested seven employees of the agency, including editor Igor Kartavikh and editor-in-chief Yevgeny Belousov.
