Azerbaijanis arrested in Voronezh region
![]() Arrests and large-scale searches of Azerbaijanis have begun in the Voronezh region, Novoye Izvestia writes. According to media reports, the Alekseevsky market in Voronezh has long been the focus of attention of security forces. Local residents regularly complain about the behavior of immigrants working in the market and the unsanitary conditions. In mid-June, a group of immigrants blocked the truck of a Russian driver. They demanded that the vehicle be left for several days so that they could use it for trade. The “market owners” threatened, including with “sharp and cutting objects,” and promised to burn the car, emphasizing that nothing would happen to them for this. More than 450 people were checked during the search. 42 foreigners were brought to administrative responsibility for violating migration legislation. Following the events at the Alekseevsky market in Voronezh, large-scale searches are being carried out in the region, with media outlets reporting the arrest of representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora. Earlier, Azerbaijani brothers were arrested in Yekaterinburg, one of whom died on the spot. Baku accuses security forces of deliberately killing their compatriots. |
