American entrepreneur and Tesla CEO Elon Musk asked Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei whether the United States is the Great Satan (an epithet used for the United States in Iranian foreign policy statements. This characterization was first used by Iran's spiritual leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini in a speech on November 5, 1979).

"Is America the Great Satan or the greatest?" Musk wrote under Khamenei's post on X.

"The Zionist regime must know that attcking the Islamic Republic of Iran will result in a heavy cost for them", Khamenei wrote.
