"Demanding an immediate memorandum from Russia is an unconstructive approach" - Peskov
![]() Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov called Ukraine's demand to immediately submit a draft Russian memorandum on the settlement of the conflict unconstructive. According to him, Moscow has not yet received Kiev's response to the proposal to hold a meeting in Istanbul on June 2. "Here we must either confirm our readiness to continue negotiations, or do the opposite," Peskov added. Earlier, Ukrainian Defense Minister Umenev reported that Kiev had submitted its memorandum containing the conditions for a ceasefire to the Russian side and expects Moscow to do the same within at least 4 days. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced that a new round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine would be held in Istanbul on Monday, where Moscow would present a memorandum on a future peace treaty. |
