He stated that the arrests were made as part of an investigation coordinated between the Istanbul Municipality and the Chief Prosecutor’s Office. The protests took place in multiple cities, including Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Adana, Antalya, Çanakkale, Eskişehir, Konya, and Edirne. Demonstrations began on March 19 following the arrest of Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu. He faces charges of corruption and alleged ties to terrorist organizations, accusations he firmly denies.
