Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov also reported that a telephone conversation had taken place between Vladimir Putin's aide Yuri Ushakov and US President's National Security Advisor Michael Walz. Ushakov reported that he was in regular contact with Walz and presented him with Russia's position on the need for a long-term settlement in Ukraine. According to Ushakov, Russia and the United States believe that Ukraine's membership in NATO cannot be discussed in the context of a settlement. |
