![]() China has carried out the death sentence of 61-year-old Yu Huaying, who, together with accomplices, kidnapped and sold 17 children, the Supreme People's Procuratorate of the People's Republic of China reported. "After the Supreme People's Court approved the death sentence, the Intermediate People's Court of Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, carried out the death sentence against Yu Huaying on February 28," the prosecutor's office said in a statement on its website. The court found that Yu Huaying, together with her accomplices, kidnapped 17 children from Guizhou and Yunnan provinces, as well as the city of Chongqing, from 1993 to 2003 and sold them in Hebei Province. According to the publication, the first person Yu Huaying sold was her own child. In 2004, she was already arrested for kidnapping and selling children, but she managed to pass herself off as someone else and was sentenced to only 8 years in prison. |
