We summarize the achievements of our Armenian chess players during the 2024. ?? FIDE recognized the Armenian men's national chess team as the best team of the 100th anniversary. ?? The Armenian men's team was also recognized as the best team in the "Best of the Year in Sports" competition organized by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia. ?? From June 1 to 14, the World Junior U20 Chess Championship was held in India, where GM Emin Ohanyan and WIM Mariam Mkrtchyan became vice-champions. ?? From June 20 to 28, the European Youth U18 Team Championship was held in Greece, where the Armenian team became the vice-champion.

From July 19 to 28, the IPCA World Individual Chess Championship was held in Armenia, where FM Sargis Sargissyan became the bronze medalist. ?? From August 17 to 18, the European Youth Rapid Chess Championship was held in the Czech Republic, where FM Aleks Sahakyan became the champion in the U18 category, and Sofia Baghramyan became the bronze medalist in the G8 category. ?? From August 19 to 20, the European Youth Blitz Chess Championship was held in the Czech Republic, where Sona Krkyasharyan became champion in the G14 category, and Sofia Baghramyan became the champion in the G8 category. ?? From August 22 to 31, the European Youth Chess Championship was held in the Czech Republic, where IM Arsen Davtyan became the vice-champion in the U18 category, FM Benik Agasarov became the vice-champion in the U16 category and CM Tyhran Ambartsumian became vice-champion in the U12 category. ?? From September 10 to 23, the 45th Chess Olympiad was held in Hungary, where the Armenian men's national team shared the 2nd-6th places, and the Armenian women's national team shared the 3rd-6th places. GM Elina Danielian and IM Anna Sargsyan became bronze medalists on the 3rd and 4th boards, respectively. ?? From November 7 to 20, the European Individual Chess Championship was held in Montenegro, where GM Robert Hovhannisyan qualified for the FIDE World Cup.
