Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke at the UN Security Council, saying that Russia should be "forced" into peace based on the United Nations charter. He called Russia’s war "insane" and said that Ukraine reportedly has information that Russia plans to target three nuclear plants in Ukraine. Zelenskyy asked the UN to force Russia into respecting the UN charter — saying “From very first seconds of this war Russia has been doing things that cannot be justified under the UN charter,” such as "killing children" in Ukraine. “This war cannot simply fade away, it cannot end by talks, action is needed”, Zelenskyy said, calling on the BRICS countries to be part of the peace efforts. |
