A magnitude 5.5 earthquake hit Peru

A magnitude 5.5 earthquake hit southern Peru, according to the Geophysics Institute of Peru.

It is reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 52 kilometers, 18 kilometers east of the Atico municipality with a population of around 4,000.
No casualties or damage were reported.
