Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told G7 leaders on Tuesday that Russia "is trying to directly involve Belarus" in the war in Ukraine by claiming that Kiev is preparing an attack on Belarus. "Ukraine did not plan and is not planning military measures against Belarus. We are only interested in restoring our territorial integrity," he said via video link. Zelensky proposed that a mission of international observers be placed on the Ukraine-Belarus border "to monitor the security situation." He stated that Ukrainian diplomats could work out the details and called on the G7 to support the initiative. |
