The number of people arrested for riots in Kazakhstan reaches 7,939 people

Almost eight thousand people were detained throughout Kazakhstan in connection with the riots, according to the situation center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic.

The interior ministry, quoted on Sunday by local media, said initial estimates put property damage at about 175 million euros ($198m) after the deadly violence.
