China is going to impose sanctions against #Apple and #Cisco

China, in response to the US plan to block the supply of semiconductors from world chip manufacturers Huawei, is ready to take some countermeasures, including restrictions against such American companies as Apple, Qualcomm, and Cisco, Global Times reports, citing a source close to the Chinese government.
Earlier, the US Department of Commerce said it was making amendments to the export rule “strategically directed against Huawei’s acquisition of semiconductors that are a direct product of certain US software and technology.”
“China will take strong countermeasures to protect its legal rights if the US continues to implement a plan that prohibits major chip suppliers, including Taiwan’s TSMC, from selling chips to the Chinese tech giant,” the newspaper quoted a source as saying.
