'I want to be with team in USA' - Messi thanks his fans for messages of love

Leo Messi stays in Barcelona and will not travel to the American tour. Here is Leo's message:

"I was desperate to get started but unfortunately a strain in the first training session means I will need to sit out for a little while.

"I'm thankful for all your kind messages and support. I wanted to be with the team and see our supporters in the United States.

“It wasn't to be this time but we'll see each other again soon. All the best."

Messi believes he will be back in action soon but he remains a major doubt for the LaLiga opener against Athletic Club which takes place on the 18th of August.
