Statement from the Prime Minister of Canada for the centennial of the independence of the First Republic of Armenia
![]() It is with great pleasure that I extend my warmest wishes for the centennial of the independence of the First Republic of Armenia. It was 100 years ago this May that Armenians declared independence and established the First Republic of Armenia. Only by overcoming many obstacles and enduring the hardships of the time that an independent Armenian state was able to re-emerge. It was a truly significant achievement and one that helped lay the foundation for the modern-day Armenian Canada’s cultural diversity is one of our greatest strengths and sources of pride. Canadians of Armenian descent have made, and continue to make important contributions to our national fabric. Today, we join Canadians of Armenian background, the people of Armenia, and Armenian communities around the world to celebrate this important milestone. Source: horizonweekly.ca |
