Artsakh war hero Vladimir Balayan was born on February 14, 1958. He was from Mokhratagh village of Martakert region. Vladimir Balayan sells his car, buys weapons and forms a detachment. Leonid Azgaldyan and Vladimir Balayan together establish an incomparable military unit called the Liberation Army. Vladimir does not take his family from his native village till the last day, saying that people will think the commander is running away. The Liberation Army manages to liberate 24 villages giving only 4 victims. The 2 commanders Vladimir and Leonid themselves were the 5th and 6th victims of the military unit.
